The new Speaker of Youth Assembly of Nigeria-YAN, Nurudeen Salisu made

The Youths Assembly of Nigeria-YAN has pledged to work with government and other stakeholders for the development of youths and the country as a whole.

The new speaker of the Assembly in zamfara state, Nurudeen Salisu made the pledge after inauguration of YAN, in Gusau.

In his acceptance speech, the Speaker said the YAN is saddle with the responsibility of deliberating and proffering solutions to issues threatening peace and unity, youth development, policy change implementation, security, social and economic rights of the youths.

According to him, the Assembly is apolitical and drawn from different tribes, region and religion, noting that they were nonpartisan in approach, non-tribal in bearing, morally upright and will never allow religion or regional sentiments to divide them in the struggle to achieve mandates of the Assembly.

He therefore affirmed the Assembly’s commitments in working with government, traditional and religion leaders including stakeholders for the overall development of the state and the country.

The Speaker who immediately announced the appointment of the legislative staff, said the idea of the Youths Assembly is a nationalist movement to prepare them ahead.

On his part, the Director Legislative Matters, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Alhaji Yusuf Sabo Tsafe called on them to be guided by the guidelines governing the affairs of the YAN and exhibit high sense of capability in order to deliver effectively.

The Assembly have Nurudeen Salisu, Speaker; Hauwa Barau Sulaiman, Deputy Speaker; Najeeb Alzamfary, Majority Leader; Mustapha Abubakar, Deputy Majority Leader; Balkisu Kabir Maradun, Minority leader; Habiba Sa’idu, Deputy Majority leader; Huzaifa Namalam, Chief Whip and Ibrahim Aliyu, Deputy Chief Whip.

Similarly, the Assembly also announced the Senatorial Representatives to include Samaila Hayin Alhaji, Zamfara Central; Bilyaminu Makama, Zamfara West and Sanusi Salihu, Zamfara North.
