Kano state Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje says the state will sponsor youths to under go programs that will boost the economy and reduce unemployment at the Nigerian Institute of transport technology.

Dr. Ganduje stated this during the commissioning of the Nigerian Institute of transport technology outreach center at Dawakin kudu local government area kano.

The Governor who was represented by his deputy Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna described kano as a commercial and industrial hub center of the north which required such facility to tackle challenges within the transport sector.

According to him, citing the center in kano is commendable and promised to make judicious use of of it to achieve the desired goals and objectives.

” I am particularly interested in the skills acquisition programmes because they will go a long way in addressing some of the challenges we are facing in the country”

Earlier speaking, the minister of state for transportation Senator Gbemisola Rukayya Sarki explained that aim of establishing the Nigerian Institute of transport technology outreach center was in line with the present administration’s policies and programmes that are beneficial.

She enjoined the north west states especially kano and Jigawa to take advantage of the courses offered by the Institute to reduce unemployment and promote security.

“The NITT kano outreach center will run advanced professional diploma and certificate programmes as well as provide relevant skills and knowledge that will enable Nigerians acquire the necessary skills to establish businesses of their own”

The kano NITT outreach center is equipped with state of the art facilities and equipments offering theoretical and practical training on Auto mechatronics, vulcanizing, welding, tricycle operation among others.

The event attracted the DG NITT, chairman governing council of the NITT, member representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa federal constituency, dignitaries and government functionaries within and outside the state.
