Senate President Ahmad Lawal has assured Service Chiefs of National Assembly’s commitment in ensuring all necessary assistance for them to have a condusive enviroment for their operations

Senator Ahmad Lawan gave the assurance when he received the Service Chiefs, Director General, State Security Service and the National Intelligence Agency as well the Inspector General of Police and other security chiefs at a closed door session.

Senator Lawan further said the National Assembly will continue to partner with them to ensure the fight against insecurity is achieved.

The Senate President said the chief of Defence Staff who spoke on behalf of other security chiefs remarked on their plan in containing the present issue of insecurity in the country.

Efforts to interview the chief of Defence Staff was unsuccessful but some senators who spoke expressed satisfaction with their efforts in containing the security situation.

Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, Ali Ndume and his Counterpart on Security and Intelligence, Ibrahim Gobir maintained that with proper funding and resources, security agencies will be able to curtail the menace of insecurity in the country.
