Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Mr Danladi Umar

Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Mr Danladi Umar, has appeared before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, on Tuesday.

This was sequel to a petition submitted against him by a security guard, Clement Sagwak who claimed he was assaulted by Mr Umar.

Mr Sagwak had, through his counsel, Mr Timzing Ramnap, petitioned the Senate over the assault melted out to him by the CCT Chairman.

The Senator representing Plateau North, Istifanus Gyang, had called the attention of the Senate, through the petition he laid before the Senate on April 29.

The petitioner claimed he was assaulted by Mr. Umar and a policeman attached to him after he informed him that his car was wrongly parked at the Wuse 2, Banex Plaza, in Abuja

Mr Umar said he has not been served the petition and asked the panel to give him one week to study the petition, to enable him respond appropriately.

The Chairman of the Committee, Mr Ayo Akinyelure, gave Mr Umar two weeks, till May 18, to reappear before the committee.
