Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong

The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong has inaugurated 23 Boards, Parastatals, Commissions and Governing councils in the State.

The event took place at the Victoria Gowon Hall of the New Government House Little Rayfield in Jos.

Lalong in his remark stated that, he has high expectations on the appointees to be thorough, tough and diligent in the execution of policies to ensure the state and the people are not shortchanged.

He charged them to specifically make sure they critically think through issues and give quality policy direction to the agencies as they oversee their activities.

The Governor called on the Managements of agencies to work in collaboration with the board members without conflict in order not to detail in the attainment of it’s goals.

Some of the appointees are not new in the boards he mentioned, hence it’s an indication that they performed well and it is a call to duty, an opportunity for them to serve dilligently as done in the past.

Governor Lalong noted that the COVID19 Pandemic Era has affected the economy of the State badly any it is struggling to pay it’s bills.

With the challenges being faced by the State, he asked them to give maximum attention to areas which will generate income for the growth of the State.

Some of the Boards, Parastatals, Commissions and Tertiary Institutions are, The Plateau State University Bokkos, State Pensions Board, Both the Christian and Muslims Pilgrim Boards Jos, water services, Hospital Management Boards amongst others.
