Heavy downpour accompanied with strong storm has destroyed scores of houses in Iludun Oro and Esie, in Irepodun local government area of Kwara state.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the storm also pulled down electric poles which throw the entire communities into total darkness.

It was learnt that the rain started around 3pm and did not last up to an hour.

The zonal spokesperson of Oro community, Mr Niyi Adekanye told Radio Nigeria that the incident had wrecked harvock on the entire Oro land.

He appealed to the state government to come to their aide.
