from Abdullahi Tukur

Some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Kebbi State have agitated for zonal rotational governorship in the state.

Briefing newsmen shortly after a meeting at Argungu with Stakeholders from the North and Southern Senatorial zones of the state, the spokeperson of the forum and Permanent Commissioner, Kebbi State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed said their intention was to carry everybody alone, but primarily targeting the position of the Governor to be moved from one Senatorial zone to another.

“Our movement is to seek for fairness by allowing other zones to produce Governor of the state.

He sited example with Niger State where zonal rotational Governorship is being adopted in the state.

“That is why we call it Movement for the rotational seat of the position of Governor in Kebbi State”.

The forum equally called on the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to contest for the position of the President or Vice President of Nigeria and not for Governor of Kebbi State.

According to the spokesman of the forum, the Minister of Justice has never at anytime directly or indirectly, willingly or unwillingly come out to announce that he is vying for the seat of the Governor of Kebbi State, but by his position as number three man in the Executive Council of the Federation, we feel he is good to contest for a higher position.
