Hydro Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission HYPPADEC has officially taken off with assurance by Members of the Governing Board to work within it’s mandate.

The commission pledged to Partner international and local agencies towards addressing problems of environmental degradation, loss of lives, distruction of farm and agricultural products in affected Member states.

Chairman of the Commission Mr Joseph Terfa Ityav listed Plateau, Kebbi, Niger, Benue, Kwara and Kogi as member states at the inaugural meeting of members of Governing Board in Minna, Niger state.

Mr Joseph Terfa Ityav explained that the governing board was mandated to set up structures and assemble financial resources to ensure take off of the commission for maximum benefits.

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for having confidence in them to serve in such capacity while assuring member states of their commitment to serve diligently.

The chairman also promised to come up with a robust personnel training for effective service delivery.

In a remark, Managing Director HYPPADEC Alh Abubakar Sadik Yelwa who commended Niger state for providing a befitting office accommodation for the Commission said the gesture would help in no small measure towards simplifying their work.

According to him, the inaugural meeting of the HYPPADEC actualised the dreams of its members and founding fathers, while calling for collective efforts to succeed.
