Niger State wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT has expressed dismay over the display of ignorance and total disregard to directive of state government through ministry of education on recognition of NUT as only umbrella body for teachers of both primary and secondary schools.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the NUT Chairman Comrade Ibrahim Umar and Principal Administrative Secretary General Comrade Labaran Garba made available to Newsmen in Minna.

It also called for caution on formation of State Administrative Council by Secondary School ASSUS which they described as a flagrant abuse of rule of law aim at creating chaos and disunity among members.

The statement lamented that despite the court judgement which aserted that the case between NUT and ASSUS be remitted back to court of Appeal to be reheard by another panel of Justices few teachers had remained unrepentant.

It explains that few teachers under ASSUS have been busy paying courtesy visits to some respected personalities and forming a State Administrative Council for ASSUS.

The NUT on several occasions pleaded for calm and restraint on ASSUS and has done everything within the law to diplomatically see an end of the matter.
