Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Nigeria Early Recovery Initiative (NERI) and Southern Kaduna Joint Peace Committee (SKJPC) has visited Ungwan Bido and Rugan Makama at Kussom of Jema’a Local Government Area to assess damages recorded during the last crisis.

The visit was meant to equip and enable NERI see areas requiring urgent humanitarian interventions to fast track rehabilitation and resettlement of the displaced victims.

The team also inspected the Government Health Facility in Jagindi Tasha.

Speaking with the people of Ugwan Bido and representatives of the Fulani communities on Friday, during the assessment visit, Jema’a local government chairman, Mr Peter Danjuma Averik called on them to be patient, tolerant and embrace one another irrespective of tribal, religious and party differences.

Hon Danjuma Averik also cautioned people of the area against taking the law in their hands while advising them to report grievances to traditional leaders and other constituted authorities for prompt and amicable redress.

Similarly, the Executive Secretary SEMA, Mr Abubakar Hassan pleaded with both communities to forge a better relationship in the interest of peace and development of the area.

On their part, Professor Benjamin Gugwong and Hajiya Ramatu Abarshi both representing southern kaduna Joint Peace Committee reiterated the need for peace and inter-communal togetherness.

Speaking separately on behalf of their communities, the Ward head of Ugwan Bido mr Hussaini Garki and Ardo Gamu of Jagindi regretted the sad experience and prayed it should not happen again.

They pleaded with SEMA and NERI to provide them with portable drinking water, support the Community Neighbourhood Watch and the nearest Health Clinic in Jagindi, as well help facilitate the resettlement of the displaced victims.

In a related development, the kaduna state Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has flagged off the distribution of 300 bags of Guinea Corn to victims of crisis across communities in Jema’a local government area.

Flagging off the event at the local government secretariat on Friday, the Executive Secretary SEMA, Mr Abubakar Hassan told the beneficiaries that government was aware of their plight and was working hard to alleviate them.
