Jigawa state government has urged youths to participate more on innovative and enterpreneurship-driven activities to solve the numerous challenges bedevilling the nation.

Governor, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar

The state Governor, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar stated this at the opening of a 3-day Innovation Summit organized in collaboration with the Youth Coalition for Development at the Ahmadu Bello Hall, in Dutse.

Alhaji Badaru Abubakar explained that the state which had huge potentials in agriculture, was well equipped to not only sustain itself but also compete globally and contribute to the nation’s economy.

He therefore called on stakeholders to prioritize training of youth towards solving societal problems by adopting modern technology.

In a virtual speech, the Minister of Communications, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for working towards creating an enabling environment for digital transformation in the state.

Also speaking, the Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA Alhaji Kashifu Inuwa pointed out that the summit was organized to develop strategy that would enable the state tap its potentials with the help of technology.

According to the him, the agency will bring key stakeholders on board to create ecosystem for innovation across the country.

The Director General said the summit would also explore other potentials to include agriculture and renewable energy, and come up with a strategy for greater exploration.
