Kano State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Malam Muhammad Garba has affirmed government’s commitment at ensuring improved welfare and condusive working environment for journalists.
Malam Muhammad stated this during Rattawu Pyramid FM chapel annual conference and award presentation in Kano
The commissioner who described journalists as the back bone of any meaningful society, said there was the need for improved working conditions.
He pointed out that, training and retraining of journalists wo8 go a long way in moving the country forward globally.
In a remark, the general manager of Radio Nigeria’s pyramid FM, Malam Ismail Ahmed Dabai described the occasion as the first of its in the station.
He appealed to the state government to come to the aid of Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM in terms of infrastructures and equipments.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of Rattawu Pyramid FM chapel, Comrade Mustapha Zango pointed out that the awardees were selected after careful scrutiny.
He noted that, the association will continue recognizing and commending hard working staff and individuals.
One of the awardees,a retired Engineer from Pyramid FM, Engineer Abubakar commended the commitment of RATTAWU for identifying the contribution he gave while in service.
The ceremony was attended by staff of Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM,State members of RATTAWU and other stakeholders.
