Jigawa state and local government contributory pension scheme has paid over #1 billion naira as benefits for 3 categories of workers in the last quarter of this year.

The executive secretary, Alhaji Hashim Ahmed Fagam stated this while briefing newsmen at Pension house in Dutse, the state capital.

He said the money included retirement benefits and death pension balance for beneficiaries.

Alhaji Hashim Ahmed Fagam added that the beneficiaries were workers of the state, local government and local education authority.

He noted that 229 Staff retired from service and those who died in service as well as pensioners would enjoy their entitlements of over #517 million naira.

”131 local government staff will also be paid over one hundred and ninety eight million naira as their benefits, while 170 staff of Local education authority will receive over 369 million naira”.

The executive secretary who commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for support at all times, pointed out that, the board does not extort money from anybody in processing payment.
