Nigeria has produced her first cellphone.

The Director General of Industrial Training Fund, ITF, Sir Joseph Ari, made this known at the 12th meeting of the National Council on Industry, Trade and Investment in Abuja.

He explained that the cellphones are 4G enabled with locally sourced materials.

Together with the trainees, we were able to produce mobile cell phones using local materials. The mobile cellphones are 4G with all the components you can have in any mobile unit” he added

Sir Joseph Ari said the Agency was collaborating with Standards Organisation of Nigeria, to ensure required standards.

The Director General presented the cellphones to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, and that of State, Ambassador Mariam Katagum.
