All Progressives Congress (APC), Zamfara state Chapter, has called on supporters of the party to boycott the supplementary bye-election in Bakura Local Government Area of the state slated for tomorrow.

Chairman of the State APC Publicity Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin-Magaji made this known at a press briefing while reacting to the outcome of the just concluded Bakura Local Government State Assembly bye-election conducted on 5th December.

The Chairman noted that the election was characterised by intimidation, harrasment, snatching of ballot box, kidnap of electoral officials, and killings of innocent people which left the local government devastated.

Alhaji Ibrahim said APC party officials of the state are dissatisfied with arrangements in place for a supplementary bye-election slated for Wednesday 9th December and feared for the security of lives and property of electorates and as such are called for a boycott of the election by the party’s supporters.

The Independent National Electoral Commission announced a new date for the supplementary bye-election in 14 polling units in Bakura Local Government where elections were earlier cancelled.
