Federal Ministry of Health has confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 8.

 Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire made this known at a press briefing in Abuja.

Dr Osagie Ehanire said out of the five new positive cases, three arrived from the United States, while two came in from the United Kingdom.

 He confirmed that two of the three from the US were Nigerians, a mother and child, while the third is an American national.

The Minister maintained that one of the Nigerian from US is a 6 weeks old baby, the youngest to have contracted the COVID 19 virus.

He also added that the other two from UK were Nigerians.
