As INEC extended the deadline for the collection of the Permanent Voters Card, PVCs by eight days, Traditional and religious leaders have appealed to registered voters to ensure collection of their PVCs.
One of them, is the commissioner for religious affairs Zamfara state Dr Muhammad Tukur Sani Jangebe.
Dr Jangebe said, the Independent National Electoral Commission – INEC, was established by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to among other things organize elections into various political offices in the country.

Dr Tukur Sani Jangebe added that, the commission was determined to ensure registered voters have ample opportunity to collect their PVCs ahead of the forthcoming election.
He said the PVCs was the only weapons for the electorates to elect leaders of their choice who can deliver and provide dividend of democracy to the people at the grassroot levels.
Dr Jangebe who is Ala the Chief Imam of Muslims Foundation Jumuat Mosque warned citizens against selling votes for either money, foodstuff, or because of religious beliefs should try as much as possible to avoid doing so this time around.
The troubles, pains, and difficulties Nigerians goes through are many, therefore the best ways to reduce them or get a solution is to vote for the right leaders and make Nigeria better for the next generation.
Therefore, the selling of votes, or not even collecting of PVC should be discouraged to have a better, free, and developed Nigeria
According to him, the INEC has printed 13,868,441 PVCs for all new valid registrants as well as applicants for transfer or replacement of cards, and therefore, called on eligible voters who registered to collect their cards.
The Imam also called on Muslims ummah and the northerners to pray for the peaceful conduct of 2023 general elections across the country for unity and development.
