KNSG To Construct 5,000 Housing Units For Civil Servants, Teachers, Others

Kano state house of assembly has approved the establishment of 5,000 housing units for teachers,civil servants and public servants in the state.

Reading the letter during plenary, the speaker Kano state house of assembly, Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari said the executive is seeking for approaval in implementing the project across the 44 local government areas.

After careful deliberations, the lawmakers unanimously approved the establishment of the housing units, under the leadership of the executive chairman, Kano state policy coordination and policy implementation directorate, Alhaji Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi.

In a similar development, the house has called on the state government to establish Kano state polytechnic campus in Rogo local government area, following a motion by member representing Rogo local government, Dahiru Zarewa

He explained that establishment of the campus will go a long way in boosting the economy and reducing unemployment through enterprenuership skills.

Members representing, Sumaila, Dala, Kiru and Tudun Wada argued that, the Kano being among states with the highest population needs more schools to accommodate its teeming youths.

Meanwhile,the Kano state house of assembly has received a petition from parents teachers association of Badi’ul Islam, Dala Quarters in Dala local govenrnment area, over efforts by unknown persons to construct a building within the school.

The lawmakers mandated its committees on public petition and history and tourism to investigate and submit report within two weeks for further legislative action.

The house adjourned its sitting to Monday February 7th 2022.
