FG flags off Mobile Money Agents Training Programme

Federal Government has reiterated it’s determination in providing Skills Acquisition training to women and youths,aimed at making them become self relient.

The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs,Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk disclosed this during the Flagg off of the Mobile money Agents training programme for North West zone,held at Government House Kano.

Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk Said federal government was committed in initiating laudable programmes that will uplift the well being of the people especially women and youth Aimed at making them self Relient.

She explained that Federal Government was paying Much Attention to promoting the plight of the poor and vulnerable in the country, saying that was the reason behind the decision to initiate the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) as a strategy for enhancing social inclusion.

The Minister noted that the Mobile Money Agents’ Training Programme was designed to empower unemployed youths and develop their competences to operate as registered mobile money agents.

“The training we are starting today will enable target beneficiaries to meet the minimum technical and business requirements for becoming mobile money agents and enhance their entrepreneurial competences to successfully start and manage mobile money businesses”

“Upon completion of the training, the target beneficiaries will be registered with the Shared Agency Network Expansion Facility (SANEF) as Mobile Money Agents and will be provided with Start-up Kits that include a Point-of-Sale (POS) Machine, Fingerprint Scanner and Furniture (chairs, tables and umbrellas) as well as a modest capital of N20,000.00”.

She thanked the Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities SANEF for their partnership and contributions to the programme.

In a remark Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state represented by the Commissioner for Education Alhaji Mohammad Sanusi Kiru Aplauded federal Governments effort in providing Skills Acquisition training to youths and women ,with the aim of making to become self relient.

He noted that his Administration was working asidiously in providing Skills Acquisition training to women and youths with the aim of making them to become self relient.

He urged the beneficiaries to make maximum utilization of the Golden opportunity, aimed at Achieving the Set objectives.

The minister later made a symbolic presentation of POS machines, Umbrellas, Finger print scanners, furniture and a twenty thousand Naira starting capital to some of the beneficiaries.

The programme is expected to provide job opportunities for 1,850 youths selected from the 36 States and the FCT as well as promote financial inclusion, by providing financial services to under-served Nigerians.
