FG Approves National Policy On 5G Network

The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved a National Policy on of 5th Generation of Networks for Nigeria’s Digital Economy.

Briefing State House correspondents on the policy, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Fantami, allayed the fears that the deployment of the 5G network could be fatal to users.

The emergence and rapid spread of Covid-19, as well as the incredible number of deaths the disease has caused across the world were all attributed to the deployment of the 5G network.

As frightened as people are about the effects of using the network, no competent authority has yet pacified them, and this will definitely generate reactions against its deployment in the country.

With this in mind, the Minister of Communications, Professor Ali Fantami, assured Nigerians that the 5G was even safer than its predecessors.

He explained that 5G network was a veritable tool for ensuring adequate security, and the enhancement of socio-economic activities.

The Minister explained that his ministry had been directed to adhere strictly to the standard regulations issued by the United Nations on the deployment of the 5G network.
