Army Strengthens Civil Relation With Community

Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to continue to render selfless services to its host communities across the country.

General Officer Commanding One Division Kaduna, Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi stated this while flagging off a medical outreach programme in commemoration of the annual Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), held at Rigasa in Igabi Local Government Area.

Represented by Brigadier General Adeleke Ayenuga, the GOC explained that considering the importance of health and health related issues, the division decided to conduct this year’s NADCEL medical outreach programme at Rigasa to strengthen civil-military relations to the community.

He maintained that the outreach would also afford beneficiaries, the opportunity to have appropriate health education, counselling, social support as well as providing treatment for some illnesses.

Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi urged the people to utilise the opportunity by being frank while interacting with medical personnel in order to get the best out of their wealth of experience.

In a remark, district head of Rigasa, Architect Aminu Idris expressed gratitude to the Army for the gesture and appealed for more so as to accommodate the teeming population of Rigasa.

The Nigerian Army Day Celebration is an annual event held to showcase the Army as an instrument of national unity and integration.

It is also aimed at demonstrating its doctrine, state of combat readiness, future projections, as well as to celebrate and honour fallen heroes who have paid the supreme price in service to fatherland.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of medicated eye glasses, treated mosquito nets and administration of drugs to about five thousand residents of Rigasa community by representative of the GOC as well as the district head.
