Journalists have been urged to shun frequent reporting of activities of the bandits and other terrorists group to enable government bring the situation under control.

Sheikh Abdullahi Abdulhamid El-Malawiy made the call while speaking with Newsmen on the state of the nation in Ilorin,the Kwara state capital.

According to him reporting the activities of bandits and other criminal elements frequently makes the situation to escalate.

Sheikh Abdulhamid noted that the security agencies should be allowed to carry out their duties without necessarily over heating the polity through sensational reporting of the events.

He however appealed to media professional to report less of the crisis in the interest of peace and development of the country.
