Zamfara State Government has approved contract worth millions of naira for redesigning and reconstruction of the ancient city of Gusau, the state capital.
Director General Media, Public Enlightenment and Communications of the Government House Gusau, Malam Yusuf Idris made this known in an interview with newsmen in Gusau.
Malam Yusuf Idris said this would curb high rate of illegal structures in the metropolis to meet up standard and compete with other state capitals in the country.
According to him, the administration under the leadership of Governor Bello Matawalle has reconstructed the old government house and built a new nineteen northern governor’s lodge.
He further explained that about 147 healthcare centers had been constructed across the state while the Shinkafi General Hospital was upgraded to a referral hospital with work reaching an advanced stage.
The media aide disclosed that the state government had also constructed a Rural Grazing Areas in Maradun LGA to resettle herders which would consist of mosques, schools, markets, hospitals, veterinary and other public utilities to avert farmers/ herders clash.
