The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU)  has rejected the increase in petrol pump price from N123 to N143.80 per litre .

This is contained in a statement signed and issued by the union’s General Secretary, Peters Adeyemi,

Adeyemi says the increase is not justified, especially at a time when the Nation is battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

He stresses that the increase is an extortion of the downtrodden, in favour of market forces.

The General Secretary notes that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought economic crisis, leading to hardship faced by so many Nigerians.

He therefore demands an immediate reversal of the increase by the Government.
