Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has urged Nigerians to prioritize national unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Babangida made the call when members of the Niger State Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) visited him at his Hilltop residence in Minna.
In a statement issued by the Secretary of the Media Committee, Aisha Wakaso, the former leader urged residents of Niger State and Nigerians at large to place the country’s collective interest above personal and political considerations.
The Director-General of the Campaign Council and former Deputy Governor of Niger State, Ahmed Musa Ibeto, who led the delegation, thanked Babangida for his advice and prayers.
Ibeto assured him that the APC campaign council would focus on issue-based and development-oriented campaigns aimed at promoting the overall development of Niger State.
