As part of efforts to enhance media operations and improve information dissemination, the Acting Provost of Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies (AKCILS), Dr. Ali Tamasi Mu’az, has provided modern communication equipment to the College’s Protocol and Public Relations Directorate.

Dr. Mu’az stated this during the formal handover of the equipment to the Director of Protocol and Public Relations, Dr. Salisu Marafa Sagagi, in Kano.

He said the initiative was part of his administration’s commitment to improving service delivery across all departments and directorates of the College through the provision of essential facilities and equipment to support effective operations and institutional development.

The Acting Provost described the provision of the equipment as an initial step towards strengthening the Directorate’s capacity, assuring staff that his administration would continue to support its growth and development.

He expressed his determination to elevate the Directorate’s operational standards to match those of public relations departments in other tertiary institutions across Kano State.

Dr. Mu’az urged staff of the Directorate to ensure the effective and responsible use of the equipment to enhance the College’s visibility, promote its achievements and project a positive institutional image to the public.

Earlier, the Director of Protocol and Public Relations, Dr. Salisu Marafa Sagagi, commended the College Management for its commitment to addressing equipment shortages across the institution.

Dr. Sagagi pledged that the Directorate would utilise the newly provided equipment effectively to improve media coverage, strengthen information dissemination and promote the image of the College locally and internationally.

He also expressed appreciation to the College Management for recognising the importance of public relations in institutional administration and supporting the Directorate in carrying out its responsibilities.

The equipment provided includes three Samsung Galaxy smartphones, a tablet computer, a smart artificial intelligence (AI) tripod stand, LED lighting kits and microphones.

The items are expected to improve the Directorate’s capacity for news gathering, photography, video production and coverage of official college activities.
