The Zamfara State Coordination Office of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) says it has recorded significant achievements in livestock development, including the construction and rehabilitation of livestock infrastructure, capacity-building programmes for beneficiaries, input support for livestock farmers and a statewide livestock vaccination exercise.
The State Project Coordinator, Nasiru Mohammed, disclosed this while presenting the state’s implementation progress report at the ongoing L-PRES Implementation Support Mission (ISM) in Yola, Adamawa State.
The mission, which runs from October 5 to 10, 2026, is aimed at assessing project implementation progress, identifying emerging challenges, strengthening coordination and ensuring the achievement of the project’s development objectives.
It also provides an opportunity for participating states to review their performance, share implementation experiences and explore strategies for addressing challenges and accelerating project activities.
The Zamfara delegation was led by Nasiru Mohammed and comprised key technical and administrative officers of the project.
During the mission, representatives of participating State Coordination Offices engaged with the mission team to discuss achievements, share experiences, identify implementation challenges and outline priority actions for improving project delivery.
Mohammed also highlighted other technical interventions undertaken by L-PRES to strengthen livestock production and enhance the capacity of beneficiaries across Zamfara State.
In their responses, the L-PRES Task Team Leader (TTL) and National Project Coordinator (NPC) commended the Zamfara State Coordination Office, particularly for the quality of infrastructure delivered under the project.
The commendation underscored the importance of quality infrastructure in promoting livestock development and ensuring the sustainability of project interventions.
Mohammed reaffirmed the state’s commitment to the effective implementation of L-PRES, with a focus on improving livestock productivity, building resilience among livestock-dependent communities and promoting sustainable commercialisation across priority livestock value chains.
The Zamfara State Coordination Office also expressed appreciation to the L-PRES National Coordination Office (NCO) and the mission team for their continued technical support, guidance and constructive engagement towards strengthening project implementation across participating states.
