Jigawa State Government has approved the expansion of an earlier approval for the establishment of a solar panel assembly plant to include a lithium battery energy storage assembly plant.
The State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, disclosed this shortly after the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Dutse.
He explained that the inclusion of lithium battery energy storage assembly alongside solar panel production would create an integrated renewable energy manufacturing platform to meet the growing demand for clean and reliable energy solutions.
According to him, the initiative would position Jigawa State as a one-stop production centre for solar and energy storage products, while supporting the development of renewable energy manufacturing in the state.
He said, the proposed expansion will strengthen the project’s economic value to Jigawa State and broaden the range of products to be assemble locally.
Sagir noted that, it will also create further opportunities for skilled employment and technical training, support businesses involved as well as the value of the among others.
The Commissioner added that, this is In line with the commitment of Governor Umar Namadi administration’s effort to broaden the state’s industrial base and promote sustainable energy development.
