The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mallam Bashir Tanimu Gambo, has donated ₦500,000 to support a Maulud celebration held in Dutsinma.
The event, which took place on Sunday night, 23 August 2026, was organised at the Zawiyya of the late Sheikh Mallam Umar Gabduwa in Hayin Gada, Dutsinma, to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In his remarks, at the gathering, the Commissioner, who is also the Walin Dutsinma, highlighted key aspects of the Prophet’s life, including his lineage, upbringing, the beginning of his prophethood and his migration from Makkah to Madinah.
He also emphasised the Prophet’s exemplary character and teachings, urging Muslims to follow his example and uphold his virtues in their daily lives.
The ₦500,000 donation was presented to support the organisers and cater for guests attending the celebration.
The gathering featured Qur’anic recitations and prayers for continued peace and stability in Dutsinma, Katsina State and Nigeria as a whole.
