The Independent Hajj Reporters, in collaboration with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has named the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, as its Patron.
In a statement to Radio Nigeria, the Public Relations Officer of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Habibu Yusuf Babura, explained that the prestigious recognition celebrates the outstanding achievements recorded under Governor Namadi’s administration in managing the affairs of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
He said that, under Governor Namadi’s leadership, the state has consistently implemented pilgrim-friendly policies, including strategic accommodation, complimentary daily meals, and efficient logistics for both Hajj and Umrah operations.
The Governor who was represented at the occasion by the Director General of board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo commended the Independent Hajj Reporters for recognising and honouring the governor as its Patron.
While elaborating on the board’s recent achievements, Labbo emphasised that Governor Namadi’s unwavering commitment to the spiritual and physical wellbeing of pilgrims has transformed Jigawa into a model state for Hajj operations.
He noted that through proactive state funding and administrative interventions, the board successfully streamlined pre-departure screenings, secured premium lodgings near key holy sites in Saudi Arabia.
The DG noted that, the board established structured medical support teams to cater exclusively to Jigawa pilgrims throughout their pilgrimage.
He highlighted that the governor’s vision led to the implementation of continuous orientation programmes and financial safety nets for intending pilgrims, significantly easing the administrative and financial burdens often associated with the exercise.
Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo reaffirmed that the board remains dedicated to sustaining these high standards, assuring that Governor Namadi’s patron status will serve as further motivation to innovate and enhance the overall Hajj experience for the state’s pilgrims.
