The Director-General of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, has been recognised as one of the best-performing state officials in medical service delivery and complementary feeding arrangements during the 2026 Hajj operations.
The recognition was conferred on Labbo by the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR) following its assessment and consultations during the 2026 Hajj operation.
The prestigious award was presented by the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, accompanied by the National Coordinator of the Independent Hajj Reporters, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed.
The award recognizes the commitment, leadership and efforts of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board in ensuring effective medical services and appropriate feeding arrangements for the state’s pilgrims throughout the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Speaking after receiving the award, the Director-General, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo FCFA, expressed appreciation to the Independent Hajj Reporters for the recognition.
He said the award would further motivate him and the entire management and staff of the Board to redouble their efforts in providing improved services to Jigawa pilgrims.
Alhaji Labbo pledged to continue working diligently toward achieving higher standards of service delivery and expressed hope that the Board would continue to receive more recognitions for its contributions to the welfare and wellbeing of pilgrims.
The Director-General dedicated the award to the entire staff of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, acknowledging their dedication, cooperation and collective efforts, which he said contributed significantly to the achievement.
He also commended the State Government for its continued support and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims from the state.
