Justice Faruku Bunza, the High Court judge abducted in Kebbi State one week ago, has regained his freedom and returned home safely.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi State Police Command, Bashir Usman, confirmed the development in a statement, saying the judge was released on Monday.

He said the judge’s safe return had been confirmed by both his family and the Kebbi State Ministry of Justice.

The police disclosed that although the kidnappers demanded a ransom, the command maintained its policy against ransom payments.

According to the statement, security agencies have intensified efforts to identify and arrest those responsible for the abduction.

The Command appealed to members of the public to provide useful information that could assist ongoing investigations, assuring that all information received would be treated confidentially.
