The Kaduna State Government has commenced the 2026 Civil Service Examination for confirmation of appointments, with about 3,000 civil servants expected to sit for the test.

The examination which opened at the ICT Centre, KASU Main Campus, Kaduna is being conducted by the Office of the Head of Service in collaboration with Kumesh Integrated Concept Ltd.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Head of Service, also the Zinaria of Kachia Chiefdom, Mrs. Jummai Bako, said the exam is critical for newly recruited civil servants to be confirmed into permanent service of the state.

“Once a civil servant is confirmed, they become eligible to enjoy leave of absence, transfer of service, and even in-service training,” Mrs. Bako explained. “That is why it is very important for every civil servant recruited into the service of Kaduna State Government to write the CAC exams for confirmation of appointment.”

She noted that the exam covers areas directly related to civil servants’ daily duties, including administrative, financial, legal, and medical courses, as well as general knowledge on issues within Kaduna State and the country at large.

The Head of Service added that questions are categorized into about five sections to reflect different departments and levels, including admin, legal, and medical personnel. The exam covers staff from ministries, departments, and the 23 Local Government Areas of the state, excluding tertiary institutions.

For candidates who fail, Mrs. Bako assured that they will get a second chance in 2027. “As usual, we have those that fail the exams. If you fail in 2026, you will be allowed to retake the exams in 2027,” she said.

She urged candidates to “put in their best” because confirmation comes with several benefits. She also appreciated *Governor Uba Sani* for releasing funds for the exams and for his commitment to workers’ welfare, including salary adjustments and prompt payment.

“His Excellency has done a lot for civil servants. On behalf of the civil servants, I promise that we will continue to do our best in implementing government policies, because civil servants are the engine of every government,” she stated.

The Head of Service and her team were present at the opening ceremony.
