The minister made this known in Abuja during a one-day training and financial empowerment workshop organised for widows and wives of military personnel.

He said the planned salary review is part of the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of troops and rewarding their sacrifices in defending the nation.

The Defence Minister recalled that military salaries were increased from ₦49,000 to ₦100,000 during his tenure as Chief of Defence Staff, adding that efforts are underway to secure an even better remuneration package for service personnel.

According to him, the welfare of soldiers remains a top priority, expressing confidence that government will soon announce another upward review in their salaries.
