The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project in Zamfara State has emphasized the importance of strategic communication in documenting and showcasing the project’s achievements, impact, and success stories to stakeholders and development partners.
The State Coordinator of the L-PRES Project, Nasiru Mohammed, stated this while delivering his welcome address at a training programme on Strategic Communication and Documentary Production for project stakeholders and Journalist in Gusau.
He said the training was organized to strengthen participants’ capacity in effective communication, documentation, and storytelling to promote the successes of the project and preserve its legacy.
Nasiru Mohammed explained that, strategic communication plays a critical role in documenting success stories, sharing lessons learned, and demonstrating the project’s impact on the lives and livelihoods of livestock farmers.
The Coordinator added that, the training would equip participants with practical knowledge and skills in documentary production, evidence-based reporting, photography, and other communication techniques required to present the project’s achievements in a clear, accurate, and compelling manner.
Nasiru Mohammed urged the participants to actively engage in the discussions and practical sessions to maximize the benefits of the training.
He expressed appreciation to the World Bank, the National Project Coordination Office, the Zamfara State Government under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal, the State Ministry of Agriculture, and other development partners for their continued support toward the successful implementation of the L-PRES Project.
According to him, the World Bank-supported L-PRES Project, being implemented by the Federal Government in collaboration with participating states, is designed to improve livestock productivity, enhance resilience, promote commercialization of livestock value chains, and create sustainable economic opportunities for livestock farmers and other value chain actors.
Nasiru Mohammed noted that the project has continued to record significant achievements through investments in critical livestock infrastructure, animal health services, pasture development, capacity building, input distribution, and other interventions aimed at improving livestock production across the State.
He stressed that while the achievements are commendable, they must be effectively communicated to beneficiaries, policymakers, development partners, and the general public.
The Coordinator reaffirmed the project’s commitment to strengthening communication strategies that will enhance public awareness, promote transparency, and sustain the impact of livestock development interventions across Zamfara State.
The training brought together journalists, and other key stakeholders.
