The Jigawa State Government says it has approved the immediate release of funds earlier allocated to Jigawa Invest for the hosting of the 2026 Jigawa Investment Summit.

This is in line with the present administration’s commitment to fostering economic diversification, attracting investments, creating employment opportunities, and promoting sustainable development across the state.

The State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, disclosed this shortly after the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Dutse.

He explained that, the2026 Jigawa Investment Summit is expected to serve as a premier platform for engaging local and international investors, development partners, financial
institutions, business leaders, and policymakers on investment opportunities available in the State.

He said, the summit will showcase Jigawa’s economic potential, strategic advantages, and priority sectors for investment, including agriculture, agro-processing, renewable energy, manufacturing, solid minerals, commerce, infrastructure, and technology.

The commissioner pointed out that, the Council approval for the summit aligns with the administration’s broader economic agenda aimed at strengthening the business environment, promoting public-private partnerships, and unlocking the vast economic opportunities that exist across the State.

Sagir noted that, the approved funds will facilitate the planning and execution of the summit, stakeholder engagement activities, investment promotion campaigns, technical preparations, and other activities necessary to ensure a successful event capable of delivering measurable economic outcomes for the State.
