The governorship aspirant of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Taraba State, Professor Mohammed Sani, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain fair, transparent, and just to all political parties in the state throughout the electoral process.

Professor Sani made the call in an interview with Radio Nigeria, where he also urged party members to remain united, particularly during the primaries, to ensure the emergence of credible candidates.

He stressed the need for INEC to provide a level playing field for all political parties during party primaries and other electoral activities, noting that fairness and transparency would strengthen democracy and promote peaceful elections in Taraba State.

The governorship aspirant further advised delegates in the state to vote for credible and competent aspirants during the primary elections, rather than allowing personal interests or financial inducements to influence their decisions, warning that such actions could undermine democratic progress and the party’s future.

Professor Mohammed Sani also advised members of the public to validate their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the deadline set by INEC to enable them participate fully in the electoral process.

He noted that the NDC continues to gain wider acceptance with the increasing number of credible personalities joining the party across the country.

Professor Sani expressed concern over the level of development in Taraba State, citing challenges in key sectors such as education, healthcare, environment, housing, and road infrastructure.

He stressed that meaningful progress in these areas would largely depend on electing leaders with integrity, vision, and the capacity to deliver effective governance.
