The Wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has commended the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, for her visionary leadership and sustained commitment to improving the socio-economic wellbeing of women across Nigeria.

In a statement issued by her Press Secretary, Rabi Yusuf said following the National Women Mega Empowerment and Rally 2026 held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium the First Lady described the initiative as a transformative movement aimed at repositioning Nigerian women as key drivers of national development.

She noted that, the Minister’s efforts demonstrate purposeful leadership in establishing sustainable frameworks for gender equality and strengthening the protection of women and children nationwide.

Reflecting on the theme of the event, “The Power of 10 Million: One Voice, One Movement, One Choice,” Hajiya Huriyya emphasized that the collective strength and resilience of Nigerian women remain critical to national progress.

She stressed that, empowering women leads to stronger families and more prosperous communities, reaffirming Zamfara State’s commitment to investing in women through quality education, economic empowerment, and inclusive governance.

The First Lady also urged women across the country, particularly beneficiaries of the programme, to make judicious use of the support provided under the Renewed Hope Agenda. She described the administration’s policy direction as a credible and strategic pathway toward building a more inclusive, prosperous, and self-reliant nation.

The rally attracted over 35,000 women from diverse political, social, and cultural backgrounds, serving as a strong demonstration of unity and advocacy for inclusion and progress.

The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu; wife of the Senate President, Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio; wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajiya Fatima Abbas Tajudeen; as well as wives of state governors and other key stakeholders.
