The National Groundnut Producers, Processors and Marketers of Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing food production and promoting sustainable economic development through increased production and exportation of groundnuts.

The newly elected officials of the association made the pledge shortly after their inauguration in Kaduna.

Speaking on behalf of the executive members, the National Treasurer, Salisu Dabo Dabai, said the association would remain focused on producing high-quality groundnuts for both local consumption and international markets.

He expressed optimism over the willingness of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to partner with the association to achieve improved groundnut production nationwide.

Salisu Dabo Dabai noted that large-scale groundnut production would create employment opportunities, particularly for women and youths across the country.

He also urged members to actively engage in the production, processing, and marketing of groundnuts to improve their livelihoods.

The association further appealed to state governments to support farmers, including its members, by providing an enabling environment to ensure bumper harvests.
