Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has donated N100 million to support women-focused development initiatives across the state.

The announcement was made at Haliru Abdu Stadium, Birnin Kebbi, during a large gathering of women groups under the auspices of the Mugudu Tare, Mu Tsira Tare Foundation.

The event, organised by the Governor’s wife, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, attracted thousands of women from all 21 local government areas of the state and marked the official launch of an initiative targeting the empowerment of no fewer than 100,000 women.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Nasir Idris expressed appreciation to the organisers and participants, noting that women remain key partners in the political and developmental progress of his administration.

He said that since assuming office, women have shown commitment, loyalty, and resilience, contributing significantly to the achievements recorded in the state.

In recognition of contributions from members of the association and other supporters, he announced the N100 million donation to strengthen the initiative.

The Governor also urged leaders and stakeholders to always keep faith with promises made to the people, stressing that his administration prioritises integrity, fairness, and accountability in governance.

In her remarks, the wife of the Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, expressed gratitude to the women of Kebbi State for their continued support and cooperation.

She reaffirmed her commitment to improving the welfare of women, youths, and vulnerable groups, noting that her initiatives are designed to uplift communities and strengthen social cohesion.

She appreciated the large turnout and prayed for continued peace, unity, and progress in the state, expressing confidence that the partnership between government and the people will continue to yield positive results.

On behalf of the women groups, Hajiya Salma Farisa commended Governor Idris for his consistent support for women since taking office.

She described him as a compassionate leader whose policies have positively impacted women across the state and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting government initiatives.
