The Kano State Head of Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, has stressed her resolve to driving institutional reforms, emphasizing that her administration will adopt an open-door policy to promote transparency, inclusiveness, and constructive engagement.
She made this known while receiving members of the 1992/93 Class of the College of Arts, Science and Remedial Studies (CASRS), Kano, who paid her a courtesy visit to congratulate her on her appointment as Head of Service.
The visit, held at her office, brought together alumni who described her appointment as well-deserved, citing her years of dedicated service, professionalism, and commitment within the Kano State civil service.
Responding, Maimota expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the group for maintaining strong ties over the years.
She described the occasion as a reunion of old colleagues and an opportunity to reflect on shared experiences in public service.
“I remain committed to an open-door policy that welcomes constructive advice and contributions toward strengthening the efficiency and productivity of the Kano State civil service,”
She also praised members of the 1992/93 set for their professional achievements, noting that many have risen to occupy strategic leadership roles, including Permanent Secretaries and Directors.
According to her, this reflects the strong academic and ethical foundation provided by the institution.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Malam Lawan Ado said the visit was aimed at formally congratulating the Head of Service and offering prayers for wisdom and guidance as she assumes the responsibilities of her new office.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Kano State Chapter, Aliyu Yusuf who is a member of the class commended her leadership style, noting that she has continued to earn recognition for her diligence and commitment to public service.
