Kano State Government has donated three operational vehicles to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, to strengthen efforts at combating drug abuse and related crimes in the state.

The vehicles were officially handed over  by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Farouk Ibrahim, to the NDLEA Commander in Kano, Dahiru Yahaya Lawal, on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Speaking during the brief ceremony, Umar Farouk Ibrahim described the donation as a significant step toward enhancing the agency’s capacity to tackle substance abuse.

He noted that drug abuse remains a major driver of criminal activities and other social vices, stressing the need for sustained collaboration between the government and security agencies.

In his remarks, Commander Dahiru Yahaya Lawal expressed appreciation to the state government for the support, assuring that the vehicles would be deployed immediately to improve operational efficiency.

He said the donation would boost efforts to dismantle drug cartels and ensure the continued closure of drug joints across Kano State.

The NDLEA commander also highlighted recent achievements of the command, including the success of “Operation Ramadan Mubarak,” during which over 200 suspects were arrested and more than 20 drug joints dismantled.

He further conveyed the appreciation of the NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Buba Marwa, to the Kano State Government for its continued support and commitment to ensuring peace and security in the state.
