The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Mr. Sunday Marshall Katung, has assured his constituents of his commitment to champion policies and projects that will protect their interests, create open markets for farmers and entrepreneurs, and improve infrastructure across the district.

 

He stated this during the Dung Nikyob 2026 Cultural Festival and the Royal Silver Jubilee celebration of the Tum Nikyob, His Royal Highness, Gbed Tanko TETE, in Ungwar Fari Kaninkon, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

 

The Senator explained that the celebration, themed “Promoting Unity, Culture and Development,” provides a platform to preserve cultural identity, expand educational and digital opportunities for youth, empower women, and attract investments that generate employment across communities.

 

While praising the Tum Nikyob, he noted that the historic event demonstrates that when government, traditional institutions, and citizens collaborate, communities achieve meaningful progress.

 

Katung expressed hope that this year’s Dung Nikyob festival would serve as a cornerstone for renewing communal bonds, deepening peace, and unity.

 

He added that the festival would further strengthen unity and bring greater recognition to the region’s rich cultural heritage, emphasizing that the strength of democracy lies in the dignity and prosperity of its people.

 

In a goodwill message, the Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Daniel Amos, stressed the need for continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

 

He stated that, the ongoing national reforms are aimed at repositioning the economy, strengthening governance, and creating sustainable opportunities for all Nigerians.

 

Daniel Amos also highlighted the importance of synergy between cultural preservation and progressive governance, noting that the strength of the people lies not only in celebrating their identity, but also in actively shaping their future.

 

The Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Mr. Bamas Bako Maidawa, described the festival as a living symbol of a people deeply rooted in tradition, where history is honored and values are passed on to future generations.

 

He noted that the Silver Jubilee was not merely a celebration of time but a testament to purposeful leadership, wisdom, and steadfast commitment to unity, peace, and cultural preservation among the Nikyob people.

 

Felicitating with His Royal Highness, Gbed Tanko TETE, on his 25th anniversary, Maidawa also celebrated with sons and daughters of the Nikyob nation, both at home and in the diaspora.

 

He added that their collective identity and shared heritage continue to find vibrant expression through events such as the Dung Nikyob 2026 Cultural Festival.

 

In his address, the Tum Nikyob, Gbed Tanko TETE, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting government policies and programs, while ensuring that the cultural festival remains a vital tool for promoting peace, unity, and development.

 

The event that featured cultural displays, presentations, and cutting of anniversary Cake, had goodwill messages from political leaders, party stakeholders, and philanthropists.

 

It was attended by several dignitaries, including Governor Uba Sani, the Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, Mr. Peter Tanko Dogara, as well as traditional and religious Leaders among others.
