Kebbi State Police Command has announced a lineup of activities to mark the 2026 National Police Day celebration, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust.”

Addressing journalists in Birnin Kebbi, the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Mohammed Hadejia reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to people-centered policing and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Police and the public in ensuring sustainable peace and security.

According to him, the Command will commence activities on Monday, 30th March 2026 with an Environmental Sanitation Exercise along Ahmadu Bello Way, Birnin Kebbi, alongside a Medical Outreach Programme at the Central Market Birnin Kebbi, where free medical services will be provided to members of the public.

Similarly, on Tuesday, 31st March 2026, a Walkathon will be held, commencing at 0600hrs from the Police Divisional Headquarters adjacent to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, traversing major routes within the metropolis and returning to the take-off point.

CP Hadejia said the exercise is aimed at promoting unity and strengthening Police-community relations as the command will also conduct public sensitization campaigns on Wednesday, 1st April 2026, focusing on electoral violence prevention, peaceful coexistence, and safe driving practices.

This will be followed by the presentation of cheques to families of fallen officers on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, in honour of their sacrifices. The activities will culminate in the grand finale at the Eagle Square on Tuesday, 7th April 2026.

The CP called on key stakeholders, including the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), other security agencies, civil society groups, and members of the public, to actively participate in the scheduled activities as the command assures residents of its continued dedication to the protection of lives and property.
