Niger Sate Police Command has deployed over five thousand policemen to provide a watertight security towards ensuring a hitch free Eid el fitr celebrations.

Commissioner of Police in Charge of the state, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman who stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Minna, maintained that the Police is not resting in its oars to protect lives and properties of people in the State.

Adamu Abdullahi Elleman said they have dispatch the conventional police, mobile police and other tactical teams to major cities of Minna, Kontagora, Borgu, Suleja and Bida to ensure a hitch free  and a successful Eid el fitr celebration throughout the state.

He said the Niger State Police Command has deployed policemen to some strategic locations that are considered as flash points to address cases of gangsterism, youth restiveness and phone snatching in parts of the state.

On fireworks, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, reminded the people of the state that ban on the use of fireworks is still inforce.

Adamu Abdullahi Elleman however warned that anyone found violating the directive will be arrested and prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others.
