As part of his official working visit to Nigeria, the Chief of the South African Army has visited selected military institutions in Kaduna State.
During the visit, he was conducted on a guided tour of the institutions, where he expressed satisfaction with the professionalism of the institutions in military training and sought for partnerships in key areas with his country.
Shortly after his arrival, Lieutenant General Lawrence Mbatha proceeded to the NDA where he praised its integrated training structure, which combines academic studies and military training for officer cadets, noting that his country could learn from NDA’s training system.
He pointed out that the academy’s integrated curriculum and professional training structure offered valuable lessons for South Africa’s military training institutions.

At the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, the visiting Army Chief acknowledged the College’s pivotal role in strengthening cooperation and strategic understanding among African armed forces.
He commended the College for its professional military education and leadership development.
Lt. General Mbatha was also at the DICON where he disclosed that defence companies in South Africa were already in partnership with their Nigerian counterparts.

General Mbatha was accompanied on the visit by the GOC 1 Division, Representative of the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Deputy Commandant of the NDA and other staff officers from the Army headquarters.
The visit was aimed at strengthening military co-operation and benchmarking training systems between the Armed Forces of Nigeria and South Africa.
