The Acting Zonal Director of Radio Nigeria Kaduna, Malam Lawal Ali Garba, has reaffirmed the station’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Jigawa State Government during a courtesy visit to Governor Umar Namadi in Dutse.

Lawal Ali Garba, who led the station’s management team to the Government House, said the visit was aimed at deepening stakeholder engagement and consolidating the cordial relationship between the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the state government.

He conveyed the appreciation of the Director-General of FRCN, Dr. Mohammad Bulama, for what he described as the Jigawa Government’s sustained support to the corporation.

Ali Garba also commended Governor Namadi for his administration’s developmental strides across key sectors.

The Acting Zonal Director highlighted achievements in education, including the rehabilitation of over 100 schools, multi-billion-naira scholarship investments under the Danmodi Students Care Programme, and the recruitment of qualified teachers to strengthen basic education delivery.

He also praised improvements in healthcare, noting the recruitment of health workers and the revitalisation of free medical care for children and pregnant women.

According to him, the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage and worker support initiatives further demonstrate the administration’s commitment to public welfare.

Ali Garba commended the state government’s investments in agriculture, infrastructure, housing, ICT development, anti-corruption initiatives and social welfare programmes, particularly the Ramadan feeding programme for vulnerable residents.

The Acting ZD assured the governor that Radio Nigeria Kaduna would continue to provide professional and objective coverage of government activities, especially as the 2027 general elections approach, while maintaining its mandate of informing and educating the public.

The visit featured the presentation of a commemorative plaque to Governor Namadi in recognition of his service to the people of Jigawa State and efforts in promoting peace, development and citizen engagement.

Responding, Governor Umar Namadi expressed appreciation for the visit and described Radio Nigeria Kaduna as a reputable broadcast institution with a long-standing record of professionalism and credible journalism.

He thanked the management team for highlighting the achievements of his administration, noting that the station’s wide reach has helped project government policies and programmes to the public.

The governor emphasised the importance of sustaining and strengthening the partnership, describing radio as one of the most effective channels for reaching grassroots communities.

He observed that despite the rise of social media platforms, radio remains a powerful and trusted medium for public communication.

Governor Namadi reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to continue working closely with Radio Nigeria Kaduna to ensure that government initiatives are effectively communicated for the benefit of the people of Jigawa State.
