This year’s Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival has come and gone but left beautiful and everlasting memories.

The Chairman of the main committee of the festival and Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Senator Abubakar Tafida made this known at a press conference held in Arugungu local government area of the state.

Recapping the entire package, Senator Tafida said the festival was remarkable, very rich, and awesomely commendable as Kebbi State Government under Dr Nasir Idris really deserves accolades for restoring the festival after a more than five years since it took place.

Argungu Emirate Council as custodian of the heritage played pivotal role in ensuring that everything went well with the Emir, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad Mera on top of situations at all times.

“The festival has once again lived up to its foundation based on peace building, unity, brotherhood and it was a gathering that brought all Nigerians from all Ethnic, Cultural, Faith, Political and Social backgrounds together enjoying the aroma of hospitality, the deputy governor said.

According to him, despite few hitches, the festival was generally successful, started well and ended peacefully to the glory and mercy of Allah SWT Hitherto gatherings of this magnitude couldn’t have been possible.

The Chairman of the main committee also thanked all who donated to the event in cash or in kind as well as working journalists in the state and the visiting ones who contributed towards the success of the event.

The main pipe events compute include, Archery, Catapult, local boxing and Wrestling, Durbar, Seminar and Quiz competitions among Secondary Schools and the Programs can be retained by the state Government with Argungu local government council.
