Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it will continue to provide special dietary care for pilgrims with high blood pressure and diabetes during the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, stated this during a visit to the medical screening centre at Dutse General Hospital, the state capital.

According to him, the board had initiated the special dietary to the state pilgrims for years as part of measure to enhance the well-being and health of the state pilgrims.

He further explained that, the board accord much priority to the welfare and health of each pilgrim, adding that, they will not relent in their efforts in achieving the desired objectives.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo noted that, special arrangements have also been made for the daily three square meals to the state pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

While commenting on the medical screening, the DG said, the ongoing fourth phase on the screening exercise
is satisfactory due to the orderly manner been exhibited by the intending pilgrims.

He therefore, reiterated the board’s commitment for taken care of the medical screening bills which is free for all the state intending pilgrims.

Also speaking, the Medical team leader, Dr. Abubakar Habib, reaffirmed their commitment to carrying out the screening in line with the guidelines of the state pilgrims welfare board and the Saudi Arabia Hajj and Umrah authorities.

Dr Habib, stressed that only medically fit individuals would be cleared to perform this year’s Hajj exercise, while close monitoring will be conducted throughout the 2026 hajj operations.
