Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar says he is not in support of the mixture of electronic and manual transmission of election results because they are capable of creating cious and confusion in the electoral system..
According to him electronic transmission of election results remain his preference.
Vice President Atiku Abubakar stated this in an interview with Newsmen in Minna, after a close door meeting with Former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida retired at his hilltop residence.
He however stressed the need for all opposition political parties in Nigeria to come together and pursue this issue collectively not to allow the issue rest where those at the helm of affairs wanted it to be, insisting that he does not support the mixture of transmission of election results, but prefer the electronic transmission of election results for fairness and transparency.
The Former Vice President explained that the current stance fall below the expectation of Nigerians who were expecting real time electronic transmission of election transfers to the various level of election, but his dismay what they got was a mixture.
On the issue of contesting 2027 Presidential election, Atiku Abubakar said such issue does not arise now, because as a member of African Democratic Congress ADC, they are busy trying to ensure that their structure is firmly rooted from the wards, Local Governments, States and up to the National level, while mobilizing people and registering at the same time.
On zoning arrangement, the former Vice President said there is no zoning provision in African Democratic Party ADC and that the only political party in Nigeria that had zoning in its constitution is the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
